Look before assigning meaning
Open your hand comfortably in even light. Notice the folds you can see without forcing them to match the illustration. Hands vary, and the diagram is simplified. A line may be faint, split or difficult to follow. You can note that uncertainty rather than turning every mark into a prediction.
Separate the line from the interpretation
The heart, head and life line are traditional names used in palmistry. A crease is visible, while a statement about personality or future events is an interpretation. In particular, a life line does not establish lifespan. Use the traditional associations as optional prompts, not as measurements of health or character.
